Where the TB230 Fits
The TB230 is a three-ton class excavator: 6,360 lbs, 24.4 HP, and 9 ft 3.6 in of dig depth with 15 ft 10.9 in of reach. It uses a conventional tail swing on a fixed undercarriage that Takeuchi lists at 4 ft 9.5 in wide, which gives it a larger operator station and a steadier platform than the retractable-track machines below it.
It has proportional auxiliary controls and automatic two-speed travel, and Takeuchi describes the engine as DPF-free. It suits utility and plumbing contractors, landscapers, and rental fleets that need real trenching depth without stepping up to a four-ton machine.
