Choosing a Tractor for Narrow Vineyard Rows

Start with the narrowest row, lowest wire or canopy, implement envelope, and required turning space before comparing power and brand.

Width First

The machine must clear the narrowest row with a sprayer behind it; bare-tractor width is not the real number. Kubota M5N narrow and New Holland T4F and T4V configurations get under common spacings; the V trims run narrowest.

Height Second

Low-profile cabs and folding ROPS exist because cordon wires do not move. For spray work, review the pesticide label, applicable worker-protection requirements, cab category, filtration specification, and employer safety program.

PTO Power for the Sprayer

A loaded mid-canopy sprayer is the hardest job the tractor does. Size the PTO to the sprayer you run, not the one you own today; Calculate the required PTO power from the sprayer, terrain, speed, and operating conditions.

Kubota M5N or New Holland T4F/V

We sell both. Compare available M5N and T4 F/V dimensions, transmissions, cabs, hydraulics, PTO ratings, and dealer support against the exact row and implement requirements.

The Replacement-Program Angle

Some replacement programs may include eligible older vineyard tractors. The administering agency determines equipment eligibility, funding, timing, and replacement requirements.
